Dr Chaitow is a paediatric rheumatologist with over 30 years experience in the management of children with rheumatic diseases.
He completed his undergraduate medical training at University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa and his paediatric and rheumatology training in Sydney.
Dr Chaitow is the Head of the Paediatric Rheumatology Department at the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, a position he has occupied since its inception in 2012.
He is a founding member of the Australian Paediatric Rheumatology Group and participates actively in this national umbrella organisation and as a member of Arthritis NSW.
Dr Chaitow has significant research interests with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. As an active member of PRINTO, he is a principal investigator in trials involving new therapeutic medications for juvenile arthritis.
He has appointments at all three children’s hospital in NSW: Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick; The Children’s Hospital at Westmead; and John Hunter Children’s Hospital. His sub-speciality is Paediatric Rheumatology and sees children with musculo-skeletal problems and autoimmune inflammatory disease, including Juvenile arthritis, Lupus, Erythematous dermatomyositis, vasculitis, auto inflammatory disease and scleroderma.
He is the Australian representative for the international juvenile scleroderma study and with paediatric dermatologists runs a juvenile scleroderma clinic at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Associate Professor Davinder Singh-Grewal is a paediatric rheumatologist with over 15 years experience in managing children with rheumatic diseases. He completed his medical training at The University of Sydney and his paediatric training in Sydney before undertaking a dedicated three year fellowship in Paediatric Rheumatology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. He also worked as a Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist at The Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK.
He is currently appointed at all three children’s hospitals in NSW – The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, The Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick, and John Hunter Children’s Hospital in Newcastle. He also works at Liverpool Hospital in south-west Sydney.
A/Professor Singh-Grewal is a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Sydney, as well as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at The University of New South Wales and The University of Western Sydney. He has completed a PhD in the field of Juvenile Arthritis and also a Masters in Medical Science.
He has a strong research background with over 60 publications in peer reviewed journals, a number of competitive national grants and numerous ongoing research projects in the field of paediatric rheumatology.
A/Professor Singh-Grewal is an active member of Arthritis NSW which is the peak patient group for children with arthritis and is heavily involved with Lupus NSW and The Myositis Association which supports patients and families with children affected by SLE and JDM.
He is the current Chair of the Australian Paediatric Rheumatology Group, the national representative body for paediatric rheumatologists.

Dr Damien McKay is Consultant Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatologist who cares for children and adolescents with a wide range of rheumatic diseases and musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr McKay completed his medical studies at the University of Sydney in 2000. Prior to his medical training, Dr McKay completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) and worked in orthopaedic and sports physiotherapy practices in Australia and the United Kingdom, providing a strong clinical base to build his specialist knowledge in paediatric rheumatology.
Damien subsequently developed a unique combination of expertise in paediatric rheumatology, following completion of specialist training at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. He has expertise in paediatric sports medicine, completing a Masters in Sports Medicine and a Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Sports Medicine at The Children’s Hospital Institute of Sports Medicine.
Damien hold appointments as a Visiting Medical Officer Paediatric Rheumatologist at Liverpool Hospital and as an Honorary Paediatric Rheumatologist with the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. Dr McKay also holds appointments as a Staff Specialist in Paediatric Sports Medicine at The Children’s Hospital Institute of Sports Medicine, and as a Consultant to the Cronulla Sharks Rugby League Football Club and Sydney Swans AFL Academy.
Dr McKay is a Clinical Lecturer of the University of Sydney in the Discipline of Paediatrics and Adolescent Health, and has authored or co-authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include fitness assessment and exercise prescription in children with rheumatic disease, as well as factors influencing injury in adolescent athletes, an area for which he has previously been invited as a scientific advisor to the International Olympic Committee.

Anne Senner RN MS is the Clinical Nurse Consultant for the Paediatric Rheumatology Network and works at both The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
Anne has been a paediatric nurse for over 30 years, 29 of those years were spent as a specialist in children’s cancer care. Anne completed her Bachelor of Science, Nursing in 1986 from Boston University, USA. She completed her Master’s Degree of Science, Nursing in 1993 from the University of California, San Francisco, USA.
Anne worked at University of California, San Francisco for nine years, in senior nursing roles, including the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) for Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant, before moving to Sydney in 1995. Anne has worked at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick in several senior nursing roles, and as CNC, in cancer care, until starting in Rheumatology in January 2017.
Anne has been an active member of professional groups throughout her career, and has held leadership roles in national and international professional organisations. Anne has several publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has published her own, independent research. Anne was a member of the Board of Directors of CanTeen, an organisation to support young people with cancer.
Anne’s current role is the Paediatric Rheumatology CNC across Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. She divides her time between Sydney Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital Westmead. Her role is to educate and support patients and their families who are diagnosed with a rheumatologic illness. Anne has become involved with Arthritis NSW, attending the camps Twinketoes and Footloose.

Debra Grech is a senior physiotherapist who has worked with children with rheumatic conditions at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick (SCH) for more than 30 years.
Debra completed a Bachelor of Science Degree at The University of NSW before undertaking post graduate training in physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. She also has a Graduate Certificate in Health Leadership and Management from The University of Wollongong.
Debra is an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and is part of a network of paediatric health professionals with an interest in musculoskeletal and rheumatic disease throughout Australia and New Zealand through the Rheumatology Health Professionals Association. She was part of the working group that, in collaboration with the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation, developed the NSW Paediatric Rheumatology Model of Care which was launched in 2013.
Debra has also been the deputy physiotherapy manager at SCH Randwick for the past 20 years and has a particular interest in educating, mentoring and coaching students and junior physiotherapists in the management of children with rheumatic disease.
Many rheumatologists who primarily treat adults will see children privately.
Rheumatologists are Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and use FRACP after their name. The Australian Rheumatology Association (ARA) is the professional body representing rheumatologists in Australia.
