Information

JIA patients can develop an eye condition called uveitis. Uveitis is more common in children who have a positive anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) and who have early onset JIA.

Signs and symptoms

It’s a chronic condition and can occur without symptoms such as pain or redness. Some children complain of blurred vision, light sensitivity, and on occasion may have sore or red eyes.

Treatment options

Treatment may include steroid eye drops or other eye drops to reduce inflammation.
